Juela! ¿Que loco la vida vea?

Hey everybody! This week was another good one. It went by dang fast! I also completed 13 months today. How crazy. Time goes by dang fast. Anyways, this week we had the whole week in the area. I went to Ilopango with Elder Hernandez to do interchanges and that was fun. It's always fun to do interchanges and learn new places. We also had interviews with Presidente Vásquez and those went really well.

I also got my scripture cases. They are super awesome. I am super pleased with the work of the Hermano that made them. They're awesome. I also bought a super cool Adidas watch that I found for really cheap.

We're working super hard with Luis, Familia Perez, and Familia Bautista. The grandma of Fam Bautista is being kinda dumb and still is not letting them go to church. We have some good people to baptize in April. If all goes well, we could have some in March, but April for sure. We've got a lot of work to do in the mission as well.

I got super sick yesterday with a fever, headache, stomach pain and sinusitis all at the same time...so we left church early and I slept for 2 hours then we took some Elders to Apopa for emergency changes. It was a hard night haha.

Anyways, everything is good and I'm still loving the mission. I hope all is well and I'll talk with you all next week. Have a great week!

Con Amor, Elder Loveless

Best and Worst of the past week:

Woooooof!

Hey everyone!! Sounds like everyone is doing super duperly good! I am too! This week we had more time to work in the area. (It's very hard to write in English...) We were able to find a lot of really good people that are willing to learn more about the Restored Gospel. We had to wake up on Tuesday at 2:30 to go to the office and then the airport then we went home and slept for like 2 hours...Thursday we went on a secret mission to the jungles of Chalatenango to rescue 2 Elders that were attacked by a herd of wild pumas...nah just kidding, But it really was a jungle and the Elder dislocated his arm and we had to take him to the hospital here in San Salvador. We got to the house at like 4 pm and slept until 6:30.

We had some super great lessons with Fam Bautista, but the crazy grandma doesn't want to let them go to church. We've been praying so hard and I think we're gonna do a fast so they can go. I love them a lot and they are progessing con todo. Also Hermano David Perez went to church yesterday. We taught them the Law of Chastity and they want to get married con todo, he was just married before so he has to get divorced then they can get married. But they're sooo good. I love them. Rosa didn't go to church this week, but next week, she'll go. Also if everything goes well, we'll have 1 baptism this week who is the son of active members. He's 9 and they just never baptized him. His name is Henry.

We're praying a lot to find out how to help the mission to progress and to get better. I'm literally exhausted, but I love every second of it especially since every day goes by soooo fast. It makes me feel sick that one day I have to come home...but I don't think about that. I'll just ask for a mission extention for 2 more years hehe...anyways, everything is good and I'm happy as ever. Thanks for your love and prayers and I love you all.

Con mucho amor, Elder Loveless

Best and Worst of the Past Week:
Best-David went to church.
Worst-Fam Bautista didn't.

Changes Week!

Oiiii Cheritos en todos su lados bien seguros!

Hello everyone! This week, I won't lie, was pure craziness. Monday we planned all of the changes and had to pick up an elder from the Airport. The truck broke down, but we're basically mechanics and fixed it haha. Well Elder Arango fixed it....(; Tuesday we went to Presidente's house to receive the new missionaries. We were there all day and got back about 7 or 8 PM. Wednesday was changes and we had the trainer's meeting at 8 in Santa Lucia and that went well. We ran to the terminal and directed the changes and that all went well. Elder Eve (my new companion), Elder Arango, his companion Elder Murillo and I went to Los Planes de Renderos to celebrate and we ate pupusas in Pupuseria Los BoomWulos. They were so good and the view was gorgeous. Thursday we had leadership counsel and that was really good. We talked about the worldwide broadcast and a few other things about the Doctrine of Christ and that was super good. Friday we worked in the area and had an amazing lesson with Familia Bautista. It was a FHE and we brought Melanie (the recent convert), Angel and Fatima because they all know each other. Those 3 are soooo good but their grandma is super catholic and doesn't want them to go to church or get baptized so that's what we're working on right now. Saturday we had Zone Conference and Elder Eve and I had to go to the Hospital de la Escalon and then to Soyapango which is a sketchy place, but it was fun. We had to search a house and take an Elder with us. We took him to our house then Elder Eve and I went to Office Depot to buy folders for a super important meeting that Presidente had today. We got home at 10 PM.... How crazy. Yesterday was good, but nobody went to church, Just less actives, which is still super good, but we only had about 5 lessons the whole week because of how busy we were.

Elder Eve is awesome. He's from the Dominican Republic and he has 1 year, actually, we go home the same day. He's super excited.

All is well here in San Salvador in the work of the Lord. This week will be a lot calmer.  I love you all and hope that you all have a great week.

Cuídense mucho y que Dios les bendiga

Con mucho amor y cariño,
Elder Loveless

Semana de los Cambios!!! (Change Week)

Hey everyone! This week was absolutely crazy. Five missionaries went home this week for health problems and we were busy picking up missionaries from the bus terminal and leaving them in other terminals and lots of crazy things. We weren't able to work a whole lot in the area because of that, but the little time that we did have, we took advantage of.

We had some great lessons with the Familia Perez and they are so good. They read the pamphlet of The Restoration and basically taught us the lesson. We also put baptismal dates with them for the 11 of Marzo (March). They couldn't come to church this week, but they own their own business and are thinking that they won't work this next Sunday so that they can come to church! They're awesome. We are going to teach them about Obeying the Sabbath Day so that we can commit them to church.

Familia Bautista is awesome. They're receiving answers slowly, but surely. They also couldn't go to church because Camila was sick and Katherine was studying. Also Katherine is basically the Salvadoreña twin of Emma. She's so awesome haha. They're always reading the BOM and praying and we taught them really well the Day of Rest yesterday with Angelito and Fatima who are members that are super good friends with Fam Bautista. They committed to go to church this Sunday.

We had the worldwide missionary broadcast and I loved it.  Elder Bednar is an inspired man. He talked about how these 5 principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ aren't a checklist. They're meant to be put in practice and be lived for all of our lives. We need to focus on repentance and helping our investigators to depend on Christ and not us. It was such a wonderful broadcast and I really learned so much from the leaders of the church.

This week are the changes. My companion Elder Arango has changes and is going to be a ZL in San Miguel. I'll be receiving and training an assistant, Elder Eve who has the same time as me and is from the Dominican Republic. I'm super excited. We'll be busy this week with changes and with Leadership counsel so that'll be fun. All is well here in San Salvador, Las Americas II.

I know this is the true church of God and the only church that has his authority. He lives and loves us as does His son Jesus Christ. This is His work and it's the best and most satisfactory work in all of the world. I love Him. I love His son. I love Presidente and Hermana Vásquez. I love my companion. I love El Salvador. I love the pupusas. I love watching how the Holy Spirit changes lives and how the Atonement changes the nature of the people. Joseph Smith was a prophet and President Monson is His prophet today. I know that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God as is the Bible. We come to know Them more as we read and study the scriptures. I love you all and thanks for all your love and support. Have a fantastic week!

Con mucho amor y cariño, (With much love and affection)
Elder Loveless

Semana de Milagros (Miracle Week)

Hey everyone!!

This week was fantastic. I hit my 1 year mark and that made me actually super sad because that means that I'm halfway done. I don't wanna be done haha.

This week we were able to do interchanges with the ZL de Usulután and that was an adventure. I stayed in the area and Elder Garcia came. He's from Honduras and I don't like him...I really try to be like Christ and love him, but he's a hard guy...

On Friday we had the baptism of Hermana Sandra Benitez and that was such a spiritual baptismal service. She'll be getting confirmed this Sunday because she works one Sunday then rests one Sunday. She's awesome and we're soooo close with Luis. He's reading the BOM and we know that will help him so much.

We have been working a ton with the familia Ramirez-Bautista and they are amazing. They are cousins. William has 19 years, Katherine has 16 and Camila has 13. The girls are sisters and cousins with William. We've taught them the Restoration, the BOM, the Plan of Salvation, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They're such awesome kids. They read together and discuss what they read and they also pray. Their family is supeeerrrr catholic so that's fun, but I've seen a huge change in their countenances and we know that the Spirit is working with them mostly through the Book of Mormon. They have baptismal dates for the 4 de March. I love those kids. They have so many inspired, awesome questions.

We didn't write earlier this week because we changed our p-day this week to Tuesday to be able to go to El Pital. So yesterday we went with us 2, the 4 secretaries, Presidente and Hermana Vásquez and their daughter Melissa. El Pital is the highest point in El Salvador and it's on the border of Honduras so I went to Honduras as well. It was a lot of fun.

Anyways, we're busy as ever and loving the mission more and more each and every day. I love you all and thanks for your love and support. I testify that this is the work of God. I love this work with all of my heart.

Love, Elder Loveless
